Patti and I traveled home to the Louisiana State campus for the LSU v. Alabama game this weekend, where ESPN College GameDay had set up for live broadcast on the campus's huge parade ground. I moved to the rear of the field to get an overall vista of the action. The venerable Law School building at far right acted as a nice counterpoint to all the temporary tents, canopies, and the ESPN tour bus (center). Amazing energy and revelry for early on a Saturday morning! Alabama won the hard-fought game, but Louisiana still has better food and music!

ReplyDeleteHey, Jim, I'm USk Blog Hopping tonight and came across this newest Jim Richards' fab sketch. Do you remember our conversation about Paris when we were in StoDo? The book I told you about is, "The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris," by David McCullough. It's a great read and you come out of it with a new and, for me, different layer of appreciation for this lovely ol' gal of a city and what it has meant to us Americans.
